Job Description
- You will contribute to defining a holistic cloud solution architecture for product-independent digital services along the roadmap 2026–2027 and drive it forward.
- You will work closely with product management, engineering, operations, and security to translate business initiatives into scalable technical solutions.
- You will design secure, reliable, and cost-effective architectures based on Azure, including compute, networking, storage, data, integration, and AI services.
- You will contribute to and ensure compliance with architecture standards, reference patterns, and governance checkpoints in line with Enterprise Architecture guidelines.
- You will conduct architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, and architectural decisions across multiple parallel programs.
- You will ensure the development of event-driven and microservices-based solution architectures that support interoperability, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
- You will support implementation teams with solution finding guidance, architectural artifacts, and utilize documented decisions from concept to implementation.
- You will support cloud optimization initiatives, considering execution efficiency, service reliability, and total cost of ownership.
- You will train solution architects and engineering teams and contribute to relevant communities and forums.
Qualifications
- Education: You have a degree in Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field. Extensive professional experience in Enterprise Solution Architecture, software development, or a comparable technical field, acquired in complex and large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience and Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of the Azure Cloud Platform and its infrastructure services, particularly compute, networking, storage, identity, security, monitoring, and DevOps.
- Solid understanding of solution architecture frameworks and methods (e.g., arc42), including documentation and conducting architecture reviews.
- Practical experience with microservices and service-oriented and event-driven architectural patterns.
- Solid background in software development with Java, .NET, or comparable technology stacks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams.
- Practical experience with Linux-based environments and cloud operations.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation, for example with ARM, Bicep, Pulumi, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, resilience, and operational excellence in large-scale cloud solutions.
- Proven experience in Enterprise Solution Architecture with a strong focus on cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
- Personality and Work Style: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, coach architects and engineers, and communicate effectively with management and other senior stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving competencies, combined with proven success in achieving measurable business results, particularly in cost optimization, efficiency improvement, and reliability enhancement.
- Languages: Fluent English and good German language skills.
- Experience in solution contexts with AI/ML and IoT is highly desirable.
