About the opportunity
Do you want to shape the marketing of battery storage systems using software and intelligent optimization algorithms?
In our integrated team of DevOps/Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Owners, you will further develop our battery optimization product – from modeling and optimization to robust implementation in the productive real-time system.
You will combine software engineering, mathematical optimization, AI, and energy industry understanding to develop solutions that directly determine the marketing performance of our battery storage systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Development and further development of our optimization product for the marketing of battery storage systems and other flexibilities in the short-term electricity markets and the balancing reserve
- Translation of complex energy industry requirements into robust software solutions and product features
- Implementation, deployment, and monitoring of productive real-time applications in Microsoft Azure
- Contribution to the technical architecture and further development of our cloud-based optimization and trading systems
- Collaboration with Data Scientists on the integration of forecasts, optimization models, and Machine-Learning models into the product
- Use of modern AI tools in the software development process, e.g., for support with programming, testing, refactoring, and analyzing complex codebases
- Development of solutions for the combination of different marketing options, e.g., Day-Ahead, Intraday, and balancing reserve
- Close collaboration with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and other teams in the development of new product features
- Taking responsibility for the quality, stability, and further development of the components you develop – “You build it, you run it”
Your Profile
- You have a completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- You have experience in transforming complex problems into robust, productive software, ideally with Python and C#
- You have sound knowledge in software development/engineering, ideally with Microsoft Azure (Testing, Code Quality, Version Control, Deployment, Monitoring, and Operation of Productive Systems)
- You have practical experience with AI-supported software development and naturally use modern AI coding tools in your development process
- You think analytically and conceptually and enjoy solving complex problems in a structured way
- You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- Ideally, you have knowledge of the energy industry and electricity markets or are interested in quickly familiarizing yourself with these topics
- Ideally, you have experience in designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases, as well as handling large amounts of data
