Description
As a Projected Mode Specialist (m/f/d), you will support DRIVE Consulting on a challenging client project in the automotive and motorcycle industry. The focus is on the software implementation and integration of smartphone projection technologies (Projected Mode), specifically Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, into motorcycle display and infotainment control units.
In this project-based B2B collaboration, you will combine sound software development with technical conceptualization, system integration, and supplier management. We are looking for an experienced specialist who can quickly familiarize themselves with complex technical issues, independently develop solutions, and drive their implementation with a strong hands-on mentality.
Your Responsibilities
- Software Development & Integration: You will support the software implementation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into display and infotainment control units and actively contribute to development.
- Technical Conceptualization: You will develop solutions for system architecture, interfaces, and operating concepts, including the integration of handlebar controls.
- Proofs of Concept: You will independently develop software prototypes to evaluate and validate technical approaches.
- Project & Release Planning: You will assist in defining work packages and milestones, as well as scope, schedule, and release planning.
- Technical Supplier Management: You will coordinate external development partners, evaluate their implementation results, and provide sound technical feedback.
- Error Analysis & Optimization: You will analyze and resolve technical challenges, particularly regarding connectivity, audio/video streaming, and system performance.
- Testing & Certification: You will support technical verification, validation, and certification (e.g., Apple CarPlay / MFi, Android Auto) as well as the subsequent release processes.
- Interface Management: You will work closely with the E/E architecture, connectivity, HMI, and adjacent development teams.
Your Profile
- Completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, engineering, or a comparable technical qualification
- Sound experience in software development, ideally in an embedded environment within the automotive or motorcycle industry
- Proven project experience with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or comparable projected-mode technologies, ideally within the scope of series development projects
- Very good technical knowledge of relevant development environments and technologies, for example C/C++, Linux, QNX, or Android
- Experience with connectivity technologies and communication protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, iAP2, and audio/video streaming
- Experience in the technical coordination and management of suppliers and external development teams
- Knowledge of established development processes in the automotive environment, particularly the V-model, Automotive SPICE, as well as requirements, change, and release management
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, combined with a hands-on, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills and confidence in collaborating with various technical stakeholders
- Business-fluent German and English skills
