About the opportunity
At Toku we are building a conversational agent platform to solve our clients' complex collection problems.
We are looking for Product Engineers with a founder's mindset: individuals capable of understanding a real problem, building a functional MVP in a few weeks, and validating it directly with the client before scaling the solution.
This role combines three highly relevant dimensions: software engineering, product thinking, and customer proximity. We want to work with people who enjoy building products from scratch, know how to prioritize with sound judgment when changes arise, and are not afraid to experiment to validate a solution within weeks.

What awaits you?
- Meet periodically with clients to understand their processes, identify opportunities, and translate business needs into technological solutions.
- Design, develop, and iterate on MVPs of conversational agents using AI technologies, validating hypotheses with clients in short cycles.
- Build maintainable and scalable software on a common platform that supports multiple conversational solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Product Engineers to define the best technical and functional strategy for each solution.
- Make technical decisions considering the trade-offs between execution speed, scalability, and maintainability.
- Actively participate in code reviews, architecture design, and continuous improvement of the team's engineering practices.
What are we looking for in you?
- 4 to 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, actively participating in the design, development, and deployment of software products.
- Experience building high-scale B2B/B2C products or platforms used by a high volume of users or transactions.
- Experience actively participating in the definition of functionalities and/or working closely with Product teams in agile contexts.
- Proven experience designing scalable solutions and making technical decisions considering trade-offs between speed, maintainability, and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical profiles and clients.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous contexts, prioritize autonomously, and transform open-ended problems into concrete solutions.
- Motivation to build AI-driven products.
- Availability to work 50% of the time in person at our offices in Polanco, Mexico City.
Desirable
- Experience developing products based on LLMs, conversational agents, or AI systems.
- Having participated in building products from early stages (0 → 1).
- Experience conducting client discoveries or participating in product conversations.
- Experience in high-growth startups or tech companies with large-scale products.
- Experience in distributed systems, APIs, cloud architectures, or high-availability platforms.
- Experience working with agile methodologies and/or working with multidisciplinary teams.
