Your Role
Senior C++ Software Architect (m/f/d)
You are responsible for the overarching architecture of the C++-based core software for mobile robotics solutions. Your goal is to ensure a stable, scalable, and long-term maintainable software architecture that serves as the technological foundation for the entire platform. You define clear architectural and API guidelines and ensure that technical decisions are consistent, quality-oriented, and aligned with long-term platform goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the architecture of the C++ core software and its further development
- Definition of clear module, layer, and responsibility structures within the software architecture
- Design and securing of stable APIs and interfaces between system components
- Evaluation of technical decisions with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability
- Identification and reduction of technical debt at the system and architecture level
- Collaboration with Robot Software, Fleet Software, Safety, as well as Test & Validation teams
- Support for architecture, design, and code reviews, as well as assistance with debugging and integration
- Mentoring and technical leadership of developers to ensure high code quality
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
- Many years of professional experience in C++ software development and software architecture
- Very good knowledge of modern C++ (e.g., C++17/20), including memory and threading models
- Sound experience in software architecture, API design, and modular systems
- Know-how in performance, runtime, and stability analysis of complex software systems
- Experience in technical leadership, architectural responsibility, or mentoring
- Strong system thinking, decision-making ability, and a structured way of working
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
