We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our team in Heidelberg, Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure, and automated CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring smooth software delivery and system reliability across our development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support software development and deployment of workflows.
- Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance using observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve build, deployment, and release processes.
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security across development, staging, and production environments.
- Implement best practices for DevSecOps, backups, access control, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
Requirements
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure role.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Fluent in English; German at B2 level or above is a strong advantage.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Heidelberg, Germany or in Germany (Remote)
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of security best practices and DevSecOps.
- Experience with serverless architecture or hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
