To fulfill our mission, we are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d) at one of our locations in Münster, Cologne, or Berlin as soon as possible.
You will be part of our Operations Research team and will help us design the systems that control our last-mile delivery – from code to deployment to stable operation. If you enjoy writing maintainable code and understand infrastructure as a core product, you've come to the right place!

YOUR DELIVERY AREA
- You develop, deploy, and operate Python and/or Julia services that support flaschenpost's operational processes
- You transform applications for data preparation, model training, optimization, and simulation into reliable, productive systems
- You further develop APIs and data flows, ensuring clear interfaces, testability, and maintainability
- Together with the team, you ensure the stability and availability of our systems on modern cloud and data platforms such as Kubernetes, Azure, and Databricks
- You analyze and fix errors in distributed systems and continuously improve our technical processes
- You expand our observability. For example, through meaningful logging, Datadog dashboards, alerts, and tracing across service boundaries
- You work closely with Operations Research, Data, Product, and other technical teams to reliably bring analytical solutions into operation
WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR SORTMENT

- You have completed a degree in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a comparable STEM discipline
- You have practical experience in the development and operation of Python services and APIs (FastAPI) in production, and clean, maintainable code is a matter of course for you
- You have already gained initial experience in implementing mathematical optimizations, metaheuristics, discrete-event simulations, or comparable applications
- You have practical experience with containers and Kubernetes, and are familiar with Azure or a comparable cloud platform
- You are proficient with observability tools like Datadog and have experience with CI/CD pipelines, SQL databases, and debugging distributed systems.
- You enjoy transforming analytical problems into innovative solutions
- You can clearly explain technical contexts in German and English
