About Us
HAT.tec is an internationally active software start-up in the aviation and defense sectors. We are convinced that the future lies in the collaboration between humans and machines – so-called Human Autonomy Teaming.
Our focus is on the development and application of technologies for the cooperative and coordinated deployment of manned and unmanned systems (Manned-Unmanned Teaming), with humans always at the center.
Our technologies are designed for people working in complex and safety-critical environments: pilots, operators, crew members, and decision-makers who contribute daily to ensuring safety and freedom for others.
Our mission: To develop intelligent, human-centered software solutions that support critical operations – and make a difference where it counts the most.
And this is exactly where you come in:
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated individual as a System Engineer (m/f/d) who will act as the central technical point of contact, supporting the successful implementation of our customer projects.
In this position, you will be responsible for project-specific Solution Architecture and Project Configuration, ensuring that our software solutions are technically feasible, consistent, and prepared for integration, verification, certification, and deployment. You will work closely with internal engineering teams as well as customers, partners, and suppliers, always keeping an eye on technical requirements, changes, and risks.
Your Responsibilities
- You define and maintain the Solution Architecture and Project Configuration of our customer projects, ensuring their technical consistency and feasibility.
- You analyze customer, system, and software requirements, assess their technical impact, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements and framework conditions.
- You evaluate change requests and technical modifications, analyze impacts, dependencies, and risks, and coordinate necessary adjustments with the relevant internal departments.
- You are the central technical point of contact for customers, partners, and suppliers regarding system architecture, interfaces, configuration, and deployment, and you document technical decisions comprehensibly.
- You identify and assess technical risks and integration challenges, define suitable measures, and support integration, verification, and certification from a systems perspective.
- You work closely with Project Management, Software Architecture, Requirements Engineering, Field Solution Engineering, Test Engineering, and Product Management, ensuring structured technical handover and implementation.
Your Profile
- You have solid experience in Systems Engineering, Solution Engineering, System Architecture, or a comparable technical role, ideally in a safety-critical environment.
- You possess a very good understanding of software and system architectures, integration, deployment, interfaces, data flows, and technical infrastructure dependencies.
- You have experience in analyzing and evaluating technical requirements, as well as in handling configurations, technical changes, dependencies, and risks.
- You can analyze complex technical interrelationships in a structured manner, make sound technical decisions, and communicate and document them clearly and comprehensibly.
- You work independently and solution-oriented, and communicate confidently with technical teams, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Ideally, you are familiar with relevant development and certification standards from aviation, particularly ARP4754B/ED-79B, ARP4761A/ED-135 and DO-178C/ED-12C.
