Mainframe Developer / L3 Support Engineer (Senior Level)
As a Senior Mainframe Developer / L3 Support Engineer at Capgemini, you will play a critical role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting business-critical mainframe applications. You will leverage your expertise in COBOL, Natural, ADABAS, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and z/OS environments to deliver reliable solutions, resolve complex production issues, and ensure operational stability. Working closely with global teams and business stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, support modernization initiatives, and contribute to the long-term success of mission-critical systems.

- Work on large-scale, business-critical mainframe applications that support core enterprise operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across development, testing, infrastructure, and business functions to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Take ownership of both application enhancements and complex L3 production support activities across online and batch processing environments.
- Drive problem resolution through detailed analysis, debugging, root cause identification, and implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives while preserving the stability and integrity of legacy systems.
- Apply industry best practices in software engineering, incident management, change management, and operational excellence.
- Grow your technical expertise in a collaborative environment that values innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Minimum requirements
Your Profile
- Strong expertise in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, Natural, ADABAS, DB2, VSAM, CICS, JCL, and z/OS, with the ability to navigate complex application ecosystems.
- Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production incidents while identifying long-term improvements.
- Ownership mentality and accountability when managing critical applications, prioritizing service reliability and business continuity.
- Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, enabling productive interactions across technical and non-technical teams.
