Brainsuite
Backend & DevOps Developer (m/f/d)
Job brief
Are you interested in exciting, innovative topics in the field of marketing AI? Would you like to help us take our SaaS technology platform to the next level? Are you full of ideas to help shape the future of Brainsuite.ai? If so, we would be delighted to welcome you to our motivated team as a Backend & DevOps Developer (m/f/d).
As a Backend & DevOps Developer (m/f/d) at Brainsuite.ai, you will combine software development and operations in equal measure: about half of your time will be spent developing Python-based web applications, APIs, and integrations for our SaaS platform, while the other half will be spent building and operating our infrastructure on AWS. Your goal is to ensure that our applications are not only built but also operated reliably, securely, and transparently. You will be guided by one principle: transparency. System status, changes, and decisions are visible and understandable to the team and stakeholders at all times.
Your responsibilities include
- Developing, testing, and maintaining web applications, APIs, and integrations using Python
- Building, operating, and scaling our AWS environments
- Infrastructure as Code with AWS CDK as well as automated builds, tests, and deployments in our CI/CD pipelines
- Making the status, errors, and performance of our systems visible and documenting changes and decisions in a traceable manner
- Working closely with our product, AI, and data science teams so that teams have direct access to the infrastructure and can implement changes faster
About you
- 3+ years of experience in software development with Python, ideally with FastAPI, REST APIs, SQL, and pytest
- Solid experience in building and operating AWS environments (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, DynamoDB)
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally AWS CDK) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Bitbucket)
- Enjoyment of both sides of the role: you like to develop and at the same time take responsibility for stable, secure operations
- A transparent way of working: you make system status, changes, and decisions visible and understandable for others
- Effective collaboration in a cross-functional, agile team
- Self-initiative with a very creative and solution-oriented problem-solving approach as well as a growth mindset
- Very good German and English skills (C1) in both spoken and written form
What we consider a plus
- Experience with monitoring and observability, e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience in operating containers, e.g., with Docker or Kubernetes
- Previous experience in a B2B SaaS company
What's in it for you?
- An international team that can achieve great things together: with us, you will meet people from all over the world who live and value diversity. Flat hierarchies and an open, supportive work culture create space for collaboration and mutual respect.
- Actively shape the future: whether it's artificial intelligence, creative effectiveness, behavioral science, or marketing transformation – with us, you will work on forward-looking topics that move the industry.
- Your workplace? Anywhere in Germany: we rely on 100% remote work and give you the freedom to choose your workplace flexibly. Personal exchange is not neglected – we also see each other in person at team meetings and our summer and winter parties.
- Grow with us: for your personal and professional development, we provide an annual training budget that you can use flexibly for training, courses, or conferences.
- More time for you: enjoy 30 vacation days per year plus two additional days off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
- Workation: do you need a change of scenery? No problem! With us, you can work up to 28 days a year in other EU countries.
- Job ticket: we subsidize your JobTicket so that you can travel more cheaply and sustainably by public transport.
- Exclusive employee benefits: benefit from attractive discounts on a variety of products and services – thanks to our partnerships with corporate benefits and FutureBens.
This is how the hiring process works
- First interview with Roberto Drummond (Software Architect) and Monika Vasatkova (People & Culture Manager) - 45 min
- Homework / case study presentation, Q&A - 60 min (1 week preparation time)
- Competency interview with Dr. Christian Scheier (Co-Founder & CAIO) - 30 min
