About the opportunity

At CI&T, we help large companies transform AI potential into real business impact with AI Deployment, AI-native execution, and tech-integrated business solutions.

With 30 years of experience in technological transformation, we accelerate innovation with expertise in agentic SDLC, application modernization, Data & AI, martech, and business strategy.

We are 8,000 CI&Ters in over 25 countries, collaborating to build solutions with real impact. AI is already part of how we work, evolve, and innovate every day.

Your mission

We are opening a Tech Lead position acting as an AI Engineer within a strategic operation dedicated to a client in the financial sector. This is a Senior-level technical role, responsible for structuring efficient, scalable, and secure software solutions, while also serving as a reference in the use of AI agents within the squad's development cycle.

You are the link between the architectural vision of the Principal Architect and the daily execution of developers — and in an agentic SDLC model, this role gains an extra dimension. You not only define how the system should be built but also how the agents should be configured to build it. You translate the architecture into context for the agents, validate what they produce, and ensure that each delivered component adheres to the operation's technical guidelines.

Important: If you reside in the Campinas Metropolitan Region, your presence in the city's offices will be mandatory, according to the current attendance policy.

Check what information needs to be included in the report by clicking here. This way, we can ensure the support and adaptations you deserve. If you don't have the characterizing report yet, don't worry: we can support you in obtaining it.

We have a dedicated Health and Well-being team, inclusion specialists, and affinity groups who will be with you at all stages. Count on us to go through this journey side by side.

Minimum requirements

Technological stack in context

  1. Cloud: AWS as the main infrastructure platform
  1. Backend: Java as the core language, with a focus on microservices
  1. Architectural patterns: BFF (Backend for Frontend), API Gateway, integrating layers, and event-driven architectures
  1. Integrations: REST APIs and proxy, integration with third-party transactional platforms
  1. CI/CD: Continuous delivery pipelines with agentic development best practices
  1. Quality: Unit, integration, performance tests, and security reviews
  1. AI Platform: Cursor, with agents covering SPEC, DEV, TEST, and DEPLOY stages within the squads

What we expect from you

  1. Solid experience in software architecture, with mastery of patterns such as microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, BFF, and API Gateway.
  1. Ability to clearly design and document technical solutions, producing diagrams and decision records that guide both developers and AI agents.
  1. Experience with AWS cloud, including best practices for deployment, scalability, and application security.
  1. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices applied to the software delivery cycle.
  1. Ability to perform code reviews and ensure adherence to the operation's architectural guidelines.
  1. Systemic vision to identify technical risks and propose solutions before they become impediments.
  1. Good communication with technical and non-technical profiles, with the ability to align expectations and clearly communicate architectural decisions.
  1. Technical English for consuming technical documentation and writing instruction prompts for AI agents.
  1. Experience with agentic development tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with the ability to establish architectural guardrails for the safe and efficient use of these tools within a squad.
  1. Familiarity with GenAI platforms focused on software engineering workflows.

What you will do

  1. Define and document the software architecture of operation components and domains, considering scalability, performance, security, and adherence to standards established by the Principal Architect.
  1. Act as the squad's AI Engineer, responsible for configuring, providing context, and evolving the AI agents involved in the development cycle, ensuring they operate with the correct architectural premises at each SDLC stage.
  1. Create and maintain diagrams, technical documentation, and architectural decisions that serve as a guide for developers and structured context for instructing AI agents.
  1. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and patterns for each delivery front, balancing technical feasibility, project strategy, and compatibility with the agentic model.
  1. Write and refine high-quality technical prompts to guide agents in specification, code generation, test creation, and documentation stages, ensuring consistent outputs that adhere to the defined architecture.
  1. Review and validate code produced by agents and developers, ensuring compliance with architectural guidelines and development best practices.
  1. Identify technical risks and propose solutions to mitigate them, anticipating challenges in both human development and agentic workflows.
  1. Manage the architectural backlog, including technical debt, improvements, and necessary evolutions, prioritizing them on the squad's roadmap.
  1. Ensure the team has the necessary technical knowledge for the current challenge, promoting alignments, training, and accessible documentation.
  1. Collaborate with the Developer Master in the squad's daily technical alignment, acting as a reference for design and implementation questions.
  1. Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing technical vision to the refinement, planning, and review of deliverables.

Differentiators

  1. Advanced skill in prompt engineering applied to software architecture contexts, including creating prompts that translate design decisions into precise and traceable instructions for agents.
  1. Background in the financial sector, especially in transactional systems, payment methods, authorizers, or acquirer platforms.
  1. Experience with legacy system modernization and cloud migration strategies without operational interruption.
  1. Knowledge of application security, including DevSecOps, SAST, DAST, and secure development practices.
  1. Experience with third-party transactional platform integration and building APIs proxy in multi-platform environments.
