About the opportunity

Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.

About Us

We build in small, autonomous squads. We prioritize action over process. We treat AI as a core part of our workflow, not a novelty. We care more about what you delivered than where you studied. If you're the type of person who prototypes before presenting, ships before asking for permission, and earns trust by being close to the work, you'll fit in here.

What is a Product Lead?

A Product Lead is responsible for the product direction of a small, autonomous squad. You decide what to build, why it matters, and if it worked. You are responsible for business outcomes, not just shipped features.

What differentiates this role from a traditional Product Manager?

You don't write specs and hand them off. You prototype ideas with AI tools before committing engineering time. You contribute code for simple changes (text, config, feature flags, basic UI tweaks) to unblock yourself and move faster. You work with Git daily, read PRs, and understand what shipped without needing status meetings.

The core job is still product judgment, discovery, and stakeholder alignment. However, the technical bar is higher than a traditional PM role. You need to hold your own in architectural conversations, earn the trust of engineering by being close to the work, and use AI tools as part of your daily flow.

This is not a PM who programs full-time. Nor is it an engineering lead with product responsibilities tacked on. It's what we believe is the best product profile for the AI era: someone who can own outcomes and move fast without waiting for handoffs.

What We Expect

Experience

  1. 5+ years in product management, product engineering, product design, or a hybrid building role
  1. Track record of shipping products that moved business metrics, not just shipped features
  1. Experience working directly with engineers as peers
  1. You've shipped something in production on your own

Technical Fluency

  1. You can prototype a functional concept using AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
  1. Comfortable with Git: cloning repos, creating branches, committing, reading diffs
  1. You can read enough code to understand what a PR does and ask good questions about it
  1. You understand systems architecture at the level of "how do these services talk to each other" and "where is data stored"

Product Fundamentals

  1. Strong discovery skills: you know how to identify the right problem before solving it
  1. Data literacy: comfortable with SQL, dashboards, and experiment design
  1. Clear written communicator: you can write a one-pager that drives alignment without a meeting
  1. Stakeholder management across engineering, design, sales, and leadership

Mindset

  1. High autonomy. You prioritize action over process.
  1. AI tools are a core part of your workflow, not a novelty
  1. Comfortable being the only non-engineer in the room and earning the trust of that group

Nice-to-haves

  1. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field
  1. Ability to produce near-production-ready code on simple changes using AI tools, suitable for review and merge by engineers
  1. Experience building products with AI
  1. Experience in fintech, enterprise, or domains requiring complex systems thinking
  1. Experience in high-growth startups
  1. Advanced English is essential for this role.

HOW WE WORK

Where we work

This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles — you'll spend time in the office naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.

HOW WE WORK

  1. Clarity — Open and direct communication: we say what we mean and give context where it matters.
  1. Simplicity — If it can be simpler, it should be.
  1. Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait.
  1. Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
  1. ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning.
  1. Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.

If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.

WHY CLARA

  • A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership.
  • Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
  • An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
  • English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.
